4th February

   Well!   I have amazing news to report, oh yes indeedy!   Recording is now Officially Finished!   Only mixing remains!

   If I change my mind again you're allowed to kill me.   Really.

   Yes, finally re-did the vocal on "Closer To You", and thought, "Ah, that's alright.  It'll do, I suppose ...", which for me is a very positive response, let me tell you.   Have I mentioned I seem to have a tendency to be excessively critical of my own work?

   Right, so now the mixing begins.   Well, carries on really, I've been doing a bit as I've been going along, and apart from thinking it sounds awful and I hate it, it's going pretty well.   One of the good things about computer-based recording is you can do a mix, and go away and come back days later and all the (virtual) knobs and buttons are just as you left them.   Try doing that in a real studio!

   Have I mentioned the track listing for what will now definitely be an EP?   It's as follows: For What It's Worth, Demons, Over You Soon and Closer To You.   Not necessarily in that order, but that's the current working running order.   Definitely "Closer To You" last.   It's an Ender, oh yes indeedy.

   Tricky thing though, track sequencing.   Apparently Radiohead almost broke up over the track listing for "Kid A".   Hopefully I won't do that.   (They should have just gone, well, doesn't matter, we can put the rest out next year anyway!).   Good old Radiohead.   It's nice to know that even famous/successful artists can have a nightmare doing music as well!

   Right!   Get a tiny bit more excited!

12th February

   Mixing now in final stages!   I'm currently running off a tape of the mixes to listen to on various stereos, etc., as you do.

   Oh, er, it's now a three track EP, had to put Closer To You on the back burner for a bit.   Just didn't seem to be working.   Sorry.

   But the other three are kicking it in the hood, do you know what I'm saying?

   Once the mixing's finished (this week), there's a spot of mastering to be done, which I hope to get done next week, and then I'll be posting something on the website for everyone to hear!   Hooray!

   I've made initial moves to getting the CD cover etc done, may take a little longer before it's actually a finished piece of plastic you can hold in your hand, but there you go.   At least there'll be something for the gigs.   I'll probably arrange for it to be available by mail order as well.

   Okay!   Soon there'll be something else to talk about!   Won't that be a relief?

28th February

   Damn!   That was a quick two weeks!

   As you know by now, actually got one of the tracks finished and up on the website!   Will be posting more, as they get mixed properly.   I think Over You Soon is OK now, definitely.   Will do that when I get a chance.

   Main thing that's been happening is that my day job has been taking over my life again - won't bore you with the details but basically ... no, sorry, I really won't.

   So there you go.   So not only have I been getting stressed actually at work because I've been trying to do too much, I'm then getting further stressed because I've got no time in my life to actually live, and I have hardly had any time to sort out what I'm doing with my EP, what I'm doing about gigs, etc.

   So, sorry.   But - things are gonna change, I can feel it.
