Saturday 10th August

   Well, blimey crikey, seem to be coming to the end of my phase of being really busy all the time, which I had been looking forward to for some time; now, however, I'm experiencing slight trepidation at the prospect of being rendered At A Loose End.   No, not At A Loose End - free!   Free to do all those things I've been meaning to do for so long, but haven't had the time to do, like ... paint the bathroom.   Or something.

   Hmmm.   Trouble is, when I've nothing specifically planned to do for a day, I can't seem to just go, aha, I'll do X or Y, and whizz round doing stuff like I do if I've got to go to work or a gig or whatever, I seem to just sit around for ages going, hmm, what to do ... and then I tend to decide to have a bit of a snack or something, and go to the kitchen ... and then usually some kind of ah, bit of a nap would be nice type feeling generally ensues ... which is all very pleasant, don't get me wrong - it's just that I then get worried that I'm Not Achieving Enough, and end up sitting round doing nothing except getting stressed about not doing things.

Monday 19th August

   Well, haven't done anything that actually constitutes booking a gig outside Birmingham, which was the plan; sorted a few thing out though.   The bottom line is, I hate cold-calling venues and I just have to accept that I hate it, and either learn to do it while hating it, or get somebody else to do it for me.   I've been attempting to sort the latter for ages, but it just isn't working; and I suspect the former is unlikely.

   Also I've been planning to go on holiday in August all year, and suddenly I haven't sorted anything and it's August the 19th.

   <sigh>
