Sunday 25th November
Ah, another Sunday. Not much to report. It's raining in Birmingham. Oh, recordings progressing gradually - all the electric guitar is done. Struggling with vocals a bit.
Monday 3rd December
Quiet, this time of year, innit? I seem to be semi-hibernating - if I'm not eating, I want to be sleeping. In fact, I tend to want to eat, then sleep for a bit. Then possibly potter around for a bit, then eat & sleep some more. Rinse and repeat.
Still, why should it bother me? I do my day job every week, I pay the rent (oh, actually, I must pay the landlord some more rent soon, I owe him loads!), I exist in harmony with all living beings ... er, well, mostly ... so if between November and March I'm a bit low on energy, it's not a big deal, is it? (I have to reassure myself about these things constantly - it's that Catholic guilt/Protestant work ethic combination. How come I've assimilated the worst bits of these religions I don't even subscribe to? Takes quite a guy, I can tell you ....)
So, anyhow ... went a bit mad the end of last week, which I later noticed was bang on the full moon ... hmmm, perhaps not entirely coincidental? You never know .... But that was sharply unpleasant and made me sit up and take notice a bit. Went to a local screening of the Rocky Horror Picture Show on Saturday, highly entertaining, dressing up, people throwing things, shouting a lot ... the whole thing!
So it was a weekend not only kicking back, but also in fact whittling some. And today I did some vocals for Closer To You (having decided last week that I hated all my songs, especially that one, but now it's alright again). And it sounded alright, but will it still love me tomorrow? Only thyme will tell, but it's not telling anyone.
